52:49 الطُّوْرِ At-Tur
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَإِدۡبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ

And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars

إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّآ أَسۡمَآءࣱ سَمَّيۡتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَٰنٍۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ

These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord

53:24 النَّجْمِ An-Najm
أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ

Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after

53:27 النَّجْمِ An-Najm
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ

Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names

53:39 النَّجْمِ An-Najm
وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

That man can have nothing but what he strives for

وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ

That He did create in pairs,- male and female

هَٰذَا نَذِيرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ

This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old

وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ

There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them)

54:5 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةࣱۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ

Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not

54:13 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحࣲ وَدُسُرࣲ‏

But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre

54:19 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحࣰ ا صَرۡصَرࣰ ا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسࣲ مُّسۡتَمِرࣲّ‏

For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster

تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلࣲ مُّنقَعِرࣲ‏

Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground)

54:23 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ

The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners

54:27 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةࣰ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ

For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience

54:31 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ

For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle

54:33 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ

The people of Lut rejected (his) warning

54:34 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطࣲۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرࣲ‏

We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn

وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ

And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning

وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ

To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah)

أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعࣱ مُّنتَصِرࣱ‏

Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves

سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ

Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs

54:48 الْقَمَرِ Al-Qamar
يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ

The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell

55:3 الرَّحْمٰنِ Ar-Rahmaan
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ

He has created man

55:6 الرَّحْمٰنِ Ar-Rahmaan
وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدَانِ

And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ

It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures

فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةࣱ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ

Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates)

55:14 الرَّحْمٰنِ Ar-Rahmaan
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلࣲ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ

He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery

55:31 الرَّحْمٰنِ Ar-Rahmaan
سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ

Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds

55:33 الرَّحْمٰنِ Ar-Rahmaan
يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُواْ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُواْۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَٰنࣲ‏

O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass

55:41 الرَّحْمٰنِ Ar-Rahmaan
يُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ فَيُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِي وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ

(For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet

فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

In Gardens of Bliss

56:13 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
ثُلَّةࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A number of people from those of old

56:16 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ

Reclining on them, facing each other

جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

A Reward for the deeds of their past (life)

فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا

And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled)

ثُلَّةࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A (goodly) number from those of old

وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰ ا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ

And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again

56:48 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ

(We) and our fathers of old

56:49 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times

56:51 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ

Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood

56:52 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرࣲ مِّن زَقُّومࣲ‏

Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum

56:53 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ

Then will ye fill your insides therewith

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises

56:65 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمࣰ ا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ

Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment

56:69 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ

Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We

56:70 الْوَاقِعَةِ Al-Waaqia
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجࣰ ا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ

Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks

أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ

See ye the Fire which ye kindle
