This calculator is for guidance. Final zakat assessments should be confirmed with a qualified scholar in your community.

How we calculate

  1. Sum the zakatable assets (cash, investments, business inventory, gold + silver value).
  2. Subtract immediate debts owed.
  3. If the result exceeds nisab (you can pick the more inclusive silver standard, or the gold standard), zakat is 2.5% of the result.

Gold & silver prices

We do not fetch live prices because they change daily and any external API call would send your visit to a third party. Enter the per-gram price manually from a trusted local source (jeweller, central bank, or market quote).

Should I use silver or gold nisab?

The silver nisab is lower and benefits more recipients; most contemporary scholars use it. Some scholars prefer the gold nisab. Follow the practice of your trusted scholar.

Is jewellery (worn gold) zakatable?

A matter of jurisprudential difference. The Hanafi school and many contemporary scholars: yes, worn gold and silver are zakatable if they reach nisab. Some other schools exempt jewellery worn for permitted use. Consult a local scholar.
