37:133 الصَّافَّاتِ As-Saaffaat
وَإِنَّ لُوطࣰ ا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

So also was Lut among those sent (by Us)

فَـَٔامَنُواْ فَمَتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِينࣲ‏

And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while

أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَيَقُولُونَ

Is it not that they say, from their own invention

مَا لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ

What is the matter with you? How judge ye

إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامࣱ مَّعۡلُومࣱ‏

(Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed

لَوۡ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكۡرࣰ ا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

If only we had had before us a Message from those of old

فَكَفَرُواْ بِهِۦۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ

But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know

إِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ

That they would certainly be assisted

37:177 الصَّافَّاتِ As-Saaffaat
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ

But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)

37:182 الصَّافَّاتِ As-Saaffaat
وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds

38:3 صٓ Saad
كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن قَرۡنࣲ فَنَادَواْ وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصࣲ‏

How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved

38:4 صٓ Saad
وَعَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَٰحِرࣱ كَذَّابٌ

So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies

38:6 صٓ Saad
وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِنۡهُمۡ أَنِ ٱمۡشُواْ وَٱصۡبِرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمۡۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيۡءࣱ يُرَادُ

And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)

38:8 صٓ Saad
أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَاۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِي شَكࣲّ مِّن ذِكۡرِيۚ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِ

What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment

38:11 صٓ Saad
جُندࣱ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهۡزُومࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ

But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates

38:15 صٓ Saad
وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقࣲ‏

These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay

38:22 صٓ Saad
إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنۡهُمۡۖ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡۖ خَصۡمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعۡضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ فَٱحۡكُم بَيۡنَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَا تُشۡطِطۡ وَٱهۡدِنَآ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ

When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them, they said: "Fear not: we are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other: Decide now between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path

38:24 صٓ Saad
قَالَ لَقَدۡ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعۡجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِۦۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرࣰ ا مِّنَ ٱلۡخُلَطَآءِ لَيَبۡغِي بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَقَلِيلࣱ مَّا هُمۡۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّٰهُ فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ وَخَرَّۤ رَاكِعࣰ اۤ وَأَنَابَ۩

(David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"... and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance)

38:27 صٓ Saad
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا بَٰطِلࣰ اۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۚ فَوَيۡلࣱ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)

38:28 صٓ Saad
أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ كَٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ كَٱلۡفُجَّارِ

Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right

38:30 صٓ Saad
وَوَهَبۡنَا لِدَاوُۥدَ سُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ نِعۡمَ ٱلۡعَبۡدُ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)

38:34 صٓ Saad
وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا سُلَيۡمَٰنَ وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا عَلَىٰ كُرۡسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدࣰ ا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ

And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion)

38:35 صٓ Saad
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَهَبۡ لِي مُلۡكࣰ ا لَّا يَنۢبَغِي لِأَحَدࣲ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِيٓۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ

He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure)

38:39 صٓ Saad
هَٰذَا عَطَآؤُنَا فَٱمۡنُنۡ أَوۡ أَمۡسِكۡ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابࣲ‏

Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked

38:43 صٓ Saad
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥٓ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنَّا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding

38:47 صٓ Saad
وَإِنَّهُمۡ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡطَفَيۡنَ ٱلۡأَخۡيَارِ

They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good

38:48 صٓ Saad
وَٱذۡكُرۡ إِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلۡيَسَعَ وَذَا ٱلۡكِفۡلِۖ وَكُلࣱّ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَخۡيَارِ

And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good

38:54 صٓ Saad
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزۡقُنَا مَا لَهُۥ مِن نَّفَادٍ

Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail

وَءَاخَرُ مِن شَكۡلِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٌ

And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them

38:61 صٓ Saad
قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدۡهُ عَذَابࣰ ا ضِعۡفࣰ ا فِي ٱلنَّارِ

They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire

38:62 صٓ Saad
وَقَالُواْ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالࣰ ا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَشۡرَارِ

And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones

38:65 صٓ Saad
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مُنذِرࣱۖ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ ٱلۡقَهَّارُ

Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible

38:69 صٓ Saad
مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنۡ عِلۡمِۭ بِٱلۡمَلَإِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰٓ إِذۡ يَخۡتَصِمُونَ

No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves

38:71 صٓ Saad
إِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرࣰ ا مِّن طِينࣲ‏

Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay

38:72 صٓ Saad
فَإِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ

When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him

38:74 صٓ Saad
إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith

38:75 صٓ Saad
قَالَ يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسۡجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقۡتُ بِيَدَيَّۖ أَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ أَمۡ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَالِينَ

(Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones

38:76 صٓ Saad
قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيۡرࣱ مِّنۡهُ خَلَقۡتَنِي مِن نَّارࣲ وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن طِينࣲ‏

(Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay

38:77 صٓ Saad
قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمࣱ‏

(Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed

38:80 صٓ Saad
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ

(Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)

لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ

That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee,- every one

38:86 صٓ Saad
قُلۡ مَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرࣲ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَكَلِّفِينَ

Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender

38:87 صٓ Saad
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرࣱ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds

وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُۥ بَعۡدَ حِينِۭ

And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while
